Used for pharmaceutical and cosmetics - lotions, moisturizers, hair shampoos, conditioners
According to Wikipedia, Jojoba oil is used for pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, particularly lotions, moisturizers, hair shampoos, and conditioners. Originally it was used as a replacement for whale oil and its derivatives, such as cetyl alcohol. The ban on whale oil in the U.S. in 1971 led to the discovery that Jojoba oil is superior to whale oil for applications in cosmetics.
Jojoba oil is edible but non-caloric and non-digestible, meaning the oil will pass out of the intestines unchanged. Jojoba oil contains 12.1% fatty acid erucic acid, which would have toxic effects on the heart at high enough digestible doses.
In the early days, Native Americans extracted the oil from Jojoba seeds to treat sores and wounds. In 1943, Jojoba oil was used by the U.S. as additives to motor oil, transmission oil, and differential gear oil including machine guns.
Jojoba oil is relatively shelf-stable when compared with other vegetable oils because it contains a few triglycerides. It is more shelf-stable than safflower oil, canola oil, almond oil, or squalane but less than castor oil and coconut oil.
According to popular health site, Healthline, Jojoba oil has many benefits for the skin.

How to use Jojoba oil?
Before using Jojoba oil, or any cosmetic product for the first time, do a patch test to make sure you're not allergic. Do a patch test by following these steps:
You can use Jojoba oil as lip balm or as an anti-aging serum. It is a noncomedogenic wax ester so you can use it on your skin or hair.
Why Jojoba Oil Is the Only Oil You Should Be Using On Your Face
According to popular beauty site, Shape, Jojoba oil is not an oil. Jojoba "oil" is a wax ester. Why does it matter? Wax esters are notably lighter and less greasy, which is why it is so good for your skin. Jojoba oil is also shelf-stable, while other oils can go bad quickly.
Since Jojoba oil is a wax ester, it is the closest thing there is to your skin's oil. Your skin naturally produces wax esters.

|The wonderful thing about jojoba oil is that it balances the oil in the skin, rather than adding oil to it|
It is a great choice for those with oily skin or acne-prone skin because it is noncomedogenic and hypoallergenic. Most of the reactions you may see from Jojoba oil comes from the additives in it, not 100% organic Jojoba oil, adds Dr. Haley.
It does more than just hydrate, Jojoba oil is great for moisturization, without the greasy after-feel. Jojoba oil comes from the seeds of the Jojoba plant, native to Arizona, which the Native Americans have been using for its wound healing properties. It is loaded with antioxidants and Vitamin E, which help reduce inflammation and enhance wound healing. It also has anti-fungal and antibacterial properties and works great as a makeup remover - it is safe to use around your eyes.
Jojoba oil works well on your hair as well as on your skin. Adding a few drops to your conditioner and working it through the ends of damp hair can serve as an effective dandruff treatment. Apply it to your scalp overnight and wash off in the morning to lift scaly skin.
Jojoba oil plays nicely with other ingredients. You may find it in your other beauty products listed as 'Simmondsia Chinensis', its botanical name. In its oil form, it is added to creams and serums. In its solid form, it is used in mascara and lipstick. It has also been turned into Jojoba beads, which are a great exfoliant that removes dead skin cells.

I've had bad problems with the texture of my skin due to ...
This is an HONEST review, I bought the product myself & am NOT receiving a discount/ free product. ♦I've seen near immediate (about 4 days of use)results in the dryness & texture from acne of my facial skin. I've had bad problems with the texture of my skin due to how very dry my face was & tiny acne bumps, no matter which creams I used, my face would look very bumpy, skin peeling everywhere, it was quite embarrassing especially when I would apply foundation to my face (I've used multiple kinds to no avail) nothing would help the texture, acne, nor dryness of my face, I had some results with a few creams but they never fully healed my skin. I decided to give this a try since I've tried many creams but never an OIL. My skin is kind of oily so obviously, I thought using an oil on my face would worsen that, but it didn't it soaked into my skin fairly quickly & is allowing my foundation to go on smoothly since the dryness & texture is starting to smooth out finally. I had some acne scarring & am noticing them start to fade away😁 my skin has more glow, is softer, & is hardly peeling, thanks to this oil I'm finally on my way to healthier-looking skin! Be advised: apply this before makeup at least 7 minutes in advance so it can fully absorb, don't use too much since it will cause ur makeup to slide sooner than later & cause u to look very shiny. The oil has a very minimal "earthy" scent, but once it's on you won't smell it. I've used it on my hair & body also, my hair is much softer & shiny. I'm glad I tried this oil, I wish I would've known sooner.
I originally purchased this oil for my face. While applying the oil I would get it on my lips and hands. My lips were chapped for at least a month. I tried 6 different chapsticks with no results. This oil is the only thing to help my lips. I have had severe eczema on my hands for as long as I can remember, but this cured it. It has been ridiculously cold and my hands were cracked and bleeding constantly. I started putting this oil on twice a day and 2 weeks later my hands look perfect.
Buy it, you won't regret it!
I never write reviews but this deserves one. Besides dry skin, I only get pimple once in like few months but I don't use a good moisturizer or oil, so my dryness has been worse during the winter. So during a hot shower, the heat dried my face so much that I got small red bumps all over my face. It was painful and I could not put any makeup or anything on my inflamed, painful, textured skin. I read around and found that jojoba is known to be the oil closest to our natural sebum so it sinks into the skin well, moisturizing. I bought this and along with aloe vera gel, it healed my skin within a week. I don't use the aloe vera gel any more but the oil feels like your skin chugged a bottle of water. It doesn't sit on skin, looking oily but gives it a natural glow and a supple feel. There is barely a scent, so it's friendly for people who don't prefer strong fragrances. I obviously can't speak on behalf of people who have oily skin but for someone with dry skin, I don't think I'll ever buy a moisturizer again. So FORGET CERAVE, CETAPHIL and get this all-natural oil ^-^
Wonderful product, flawed packaging...
Where has this stuff been all my life?? I have very sensitive skin (prone to allergic reactions, but not to acne or breakouts) that gets super dry in the wintertime. Rubbing just a few drops of this oil onto my cheeks and forehead not only immediately gets rid of any flakiness, but it makes my skin look really healthy and almost glowing! It quickly absorbs and doesn't leave a greasiness or stickiness (like shea butter, for example). I've been using this maybe 4-5 times a week for a few months and it hasn't caused any hives. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that every time I tilt the bottle to drip some oil into my hand, returning it to the vertical position inevitably lets a few more drops ooze out of the cap and down the bottle. At that point I have to quickly wipe what leaks onto my hand so it doesn't go to waste, but it just seems annoying. If the bottle had come with a dropper, that would have been perfect. But instead, it comes with a plastic cap that's probably meant to dispense much thicker liquids (shampoo, soap, etc), although maybe my bottle is defective. Still, I'm extremely happy with the oil and plan to keep a constant supply of it.
Good for oily, acne-prone skin
I originally bought this to use on my cuticles only, since pure jojoba oil is great for the cuticles. I was reading the back of the bottle and noticed this could be used as a face oil too. I’m not a fan of most facial oils because as an oily faced woman, I never felt the need to add MORE oil when I did get the wild hair, it always resulted in enormous, under the skin, red, irritated, mountainous pimples. I used this, prepared to battle some bad acne in the week to follow, and was pleasantly surprised to see it CLEARING my acne and comedones. I’ve tried countless products over the years to clear my comedones (small clogged pores that look like mini-acne with no “head”) to absolutely no avail. This stuff worked on clearing them virtually overnight. I was so impressed. Taking off one star because it does smell, it’s not a pleasant smell, but it’s not rotten either. I’m glad there aren’t any fragrances added, but it turns me off to smell it. A life-long product buy for me.
Amazon does compensate me every time someone buys, but this is at no cost to you.
